WOW! Word Of the Week

Word Of The Week

Our Word Of the Week is Topic.

Topic is the subject of a text.

Try asking these questions to learn about your Bobcats day while reinforcing our Word of the Week!
  • If you had to write a newspaper headline about your favorite part of school today, what would the Topic be in just two or three words?
  • When you were reading in class today, what was the main Topic? How did you know it was the main subject and not just a small detail?
  • If you were going to write a book about your life right now, what Topic would you choose? Would it be a 'How-To' book, or a book about a specific person or place?

MANDATORY 26-27 Transportation Request Form

In order to prepare for the 2026-27 school year, we require all parents and guardians to confirm their transportation plans, even if your child currently rides the bus. Again this year, we will be collecting this information electronically through ParentSquare. Please be on the lookout on the evening of March 29th for this form to arrive in a ParentSquare post.

Failure to submit this form will result in transportation for your child being delayed at the beginning of the school year in August.

The deadline for submitting this form will be Thursday, April 30, 2026. All requests made after this date must be made in-person at your school.

You must have a registered ParentSquare account to complete this form. For information on registering your account, please visit https://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/parentsquare. For questions, please contact your school's transportation point-of-contact.

1️⃣ You must have a registered ParentSquare account to complete the attached form.
2️⃣ Once registered, choose your child from the dropdown form menu.
3️⃣ Choose your next year's school (2026-27) from the dropdown menu.

The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

Dear Families,

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Fairness. Fairness means treating everyone with respect and recognizing that all people have value. It also means being open-minded and fair in how we approach situations.

By teaching fairness, we help students develop into responsible, trustworthy, and kind individuals who care about others. Fairness builds the foundation for strong friendships and a positive community.

To practice and encourage the character strength of fairness at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.
