WOW! Word Of the Week

Word Of The Week

Our Word Of the Week is Text Feature

Text Feature is a unique characteristic of a text that emphasizes an important idea or detail.

Try asking these questions to learn about your Bobcats day while reinforcing our Word of the Week!
  • When you were reading in class today, did you see any bold words, italics, or CAPITAL LETTERS? Why do you think the author wanted those words to stand out to you?
  • Did any of your books today have a photograph, illustration, or map? How did that picture help you understand what was happening in the story or lesson better than just the words alone?
  • If you had to find information quickly in your science or social studies book, which text feature would you use: the Table of Contents at the front, or the Index at the back? Let’s talk about how those help us navigate a book!
The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

Dear Families,

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Love of Learning. Love of learning means enjoying the process of learning new things, whether in school or on your own.

People with a love of learning are motivated because they find joy in learning itself, not just for rewards like grades or prizes. They are driven by the excitement of discovering and mastering new skills.

Developing a love of learning is important for students because it helps them stay motivated and engaged. It can also improve their mental and physical well-being as they take pride in overcoming challenges and growing.

To practice and encourage the character strength of Love of Learning at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.

RBM STEM Website

Website Updates

Ms. Brock, our Instructional Technology Facilitator, has begun making improvements to our school webpage based on recent updated guidance regarding ADA compliance for school websites.
As we reorganize pages to improve accessibility and navigation, you may notice that some content, links, or documents have been relocated or renamed.
As part of this update, a few tab names have changed:
  • The “Student” tab is now “Academics”
  • The “Parent” tab is now “Families”
  • The "STEM" tab is now "Program Choice"
We appreciate your patience as we work to make our website more accessible and user-friendly for everyone.
