Random Acts of Kindness Day - February 17th

We believe that kindness is a superpower. Whether it’s sitting with a new friend at lunch or helping out with chores at home, every little bit counts.

Check out this checklist of "Random Acts of Kindness" for some easy ways to brighten someone’s day. Let’s challenge our students and families to check off at least one thing from each list this week!

Winter Olympics & Black History Month

Students are invited to support TEAM USA by wearing red/white/blue for the following Fridays; February 13, 20, 27 and March 6. We encourage you to take in the games as a family and experience the thrill of the Olympics.

The next four weeks, February 9-March 6, we will honor and recognize Black Americans though the lens of the Winter Olympics. Each classroom has selected a Black American who has made notable contributions to the Winter Games, be it as an athlete, fashion designer, broadcaster, representative or board member. Our Library Media center windows will be transformed to an art installation that we will post next Friday, February 13. During those four weeks, the Morning News will include a reading of each person's bio.

WOW! Word Of the Week

Word Of The Week

Our Word Of the Week is Point of View

Point of View is an opinion, perspective, or purpose.

Try asking these questions to learn about your Bobcats day while reinforcing our Word of the Week!

  • If we asked the playground slide how its day went, what would its point of view be? Do you think it enjoyed the recess rush or did it feel a bit tired?

  • What is your point of view on today’s school lunch? If I asked your best friend the same question, do you think their perspective would be exactly like yours or different?

  • Tell me about something that happened in class today from your teacher's point of view. How do you think they felt while they were giving the lesson?
The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

Dear Families,

This week, our school community will focus on the character strength of Love. Love means you value close relationships with others and being close to people.

Love is shown through our thoughts, feelings, and actions toward those we care about. When we love someone, we comfort them, make them feel safe, support them during tough times, and often put their needs before our own. When someone loves us, we feel safe and secure and can be ourselves around them. We miss them when they are not around.

Love is important for our community and society. We all depend on each other for happiness and well-being. Love creates positive feelings, helping to reduce loneliness, anxiety, and depression. Without love, we can't form strong bonds with our families, friends, or communities. A world without love would be a lonely and unsafe place.

To practice and encourage the character strength of love at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.

Thank you for your support!
