We are thrilled to introduce our newly appointed Assistant Principal, Ms. Allysea Thompson! She brings a wealth of knowledge and a true passion for driving forward progress! Please join us in welcoming her as she shares a little about herself:

Hello Bobcat Families,

My name is Allysea Thompson, and I am honored and excited to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at R. Brown McAllister STEM Elementary School. I am thrilled to join the Bobcat community and to support a school that truly lives out its mission of Empowering Learners. Engaging Relationships. Embracing Community.

I am a proud product of Kannapolis City Schools, having grown up in Cabarrus County my whole life. It feels incredibly meaningful to return to this community as a school leader and to continue serving families in the county that helped shape who I am today.

I have spent nearly a decade in public education, teaching 1st and 3rd grades at Coltrane-Webb STEM Elementary and W.R. Odell 3–5.These experiences have grounded me in the realities of the elementary classroom and reinforced my belief in the power of strong relationships, engaging instruction, and supportive systems to help both students and teachers thrive.

As I begin this new role, my priority is to listen, learn, and build strong relationships with our students, staff, and families. I believe deeply in partnership and collaboration, and I am committed to being a visible, supportive presence throughout the school—whether that’s in classrooms, hallways, or at school events. Together, we will continue creating a learning environment where every Bobcat feels seen, supported, challenged, and celebrated.

I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the R. Brown community and look forward to working alongside you to support our students’ growth—academically, socially, and emotionally.
