Words that Warm the Heart

We all know how much words matter. Use this form to write an encouraging message to any R. Brown McAllister STEM Elementary School Teacher, Assistant, Counselor or Staff Member that you want thank.

Responses will be transferred to a card, printed and delivered to teachers on December 10th. You may write as many notes as want, but each note needs to be created on a new form.

Let's work together to let our teachers know how much we appreciate the work they do!

Lost & Found

Parents, we have accumulated a multitude of items in our Lost and Found. If your child is missing a sweatshirt, jacket, coat, lunch box, water bottle, hat, gloves, etc. please have them check Lost and Found in the cafeteria. If you would like to come in and check for yourself, please sign in at the front office. If we have items left before our Winter Break, we will be donating them. Thank you!

The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

The Positivity Project Family Newsletter

Dear Families,

This week, our school community will focus on the Other People Mindset of Supporting Others When They Struggle. This means when other people are struggling, we do our best to help them out.

Supporting other people when they struggle is a critical part of being human. There are many different approaches to helping people who are struggling. These can include listening while they describe an event and their feelings about it, taking action to help people in need, or simply being there and sitting together in silence. Everyone faces tough days and needs support, and this support leads to a chain of prosocial behavior that makes us feel good about ourselves and our group.

To practice and encourage this Other People Mindset at home, please visit The Positivity Project’s mobile-friendly P2 for Families (available in English and Spanish), where you will watch a video together and discuss a quote and three questions. Below are links to this week’s P2 for Families lessons. Click on the grade level that best meets your child’s needs.

Thank you for your support!

Photo of Ms. Hunter

🐾 Brave Bobcat of the Month

Ms. Hunter goes above and beyond to help students master challenging 5th-grade math, including multiplication, partial quotients, fractions-as-division, partitive division, and quotative division skills. She eagerly learns the material, meets during her spare time to learn the content, and keeps detailed records of progress and work completion. Students love working with her and often request to be in her group. Her dedication, skill, and passion make her an invaluable part of our school community.

🐾 Bobcat of the Month

Mrs. Francis has shown amazing dedication to our students as they created art to be showcased for our families. She has put in endless extra hours and shown so much love for our students, making sure that they all had 2 pieces of art for the art show. I admire her dedication, and believe that she went above and beyond for this art show. She is an amazing art teacher, and shows it every single day. Our kids love art class with Mrs. Francis!!
