🍎✨ September in Review at RBM STEM! ✨🍎

What an amazing start to our first full month of school! September was packed with learning, celebrations, and community moments that made our campus shine. Here’s a look back at some highlights:
📚 Student Support & Enrichment

  • Tutors began Sept. 2 – welcoming back retirees and new highly qualified former educators.
  • Start of multiple extra-curricular clubs and opportunities – including Girls on the Run, VEX Robotics, Safety Patrol, Student Council, STEM Ambassadors, Drama Club, and Battle of the Books.
  • Book Buddies (Sept. 26) – cross-grade level reading time to foster mentorship and love of reading.
👥 Visits & Celebrations
  • Board of Education + Elementary Superintendent Visit (Sept. 3) – a proud moment to showcase our school.
  • Blue Celebration (Sept. 5) – we celebrated our sky-high EOG growth together in true blue Bobcat style! 💙
  • Superintendent Visit (Sept. 10) – he even rolled up his sleeves to help with afternoon dismissal!
  • CCS Cabinet Meeting (Sept. 15) – our guests joined an outdoor lesson in our Eagle Scout–sponsored classroom, where 4th graders used stream tables to explore erosion.
  • Elementary Superintendent Return Visit (Sept. 15) – joining our Bobcat Leadership Team meeting.
  • Rowan-Salisbury Schools Director of Science, Social Studies, and Innovation Visit (Sept. 19) – to see our one-of-a-kind Immersive Reality Room, the only one in the Southeast!
  • Staff Wellness Pilates (Sept. 24) – PTO brought a rejuvenating after-school Pilates class for our staff.
  • Visit from Chief of Student Services & Compliance (Sept. 25) – observing our 3rd-grade team bring the new Arts and Letters curriculum to life in classrooms.
  • Hosted District Elementary Principal Meeting (Sept. 30) – including breakout groups for CTE (Career and Technical Education) and future-ready career activities
🎨 Spirit, Art & Culture
  • Hello Spirit Week (Sept. 15–19) – in honor of Sandy Hook Promise.
  • Hispanic Heritage Month Door Decorating (Sept. 15-Oct. 15) – celebrating culture and community. (Look for photos in October)
📸 Family & School Events
  • Curriculum Night (Sept. 9) – families explored STEM activities and launched airplanes ✈️.
  • Early Release + E3 Clubs (Sept. 10) – painting, performing, planting, playing cards, and more!
  • Fall Picture Day (Sept. 16) – smiles all around!
💪 Wellness & Staff Care
  • Staff Tailgate Luncheon (Sept. 10) – food and fellowship for the souls of our staff.
  • PTO Treat Trolley for Staff (Sept. 10)
  • Staff Wellness Pilates (Sept. 24) – after-school class with Kelee Morris promoting strength, clarity, and balance.
  • Thirsty Thursday Slushies for Staff (Sept. 24)
  • Duty-Free Lunch & Chick-Fil-A (Sept. 26) – generously sponsored by Elevation Church
  • Rubber Duck Hunt (Sept.) – hosted by our Social Committee for fun and engagement.
🌟 Fitness & Fun
  • FitFest for National Family Health & Fitness Day (Sept. 27) – families joined a 40-minute workout including Zumba, cardio, and yoga led by Jennifer Tadlock, Trevor Truesdale, and Makenzie Fain.
📈 Professional Development & Learning
  • Professional Development (Sept. 3, 8, 10, 17, 18, 22, 23, 25, 29, 30) – staff explored research-based interventions, questioning strategies, student-led conferences and data notebooks, classroom management, Arts & Letters curriculum, STEM practices, SEL, small group/1:1 planning, and more.
🌟 Special Events & Achievements
  • ALC Fundraiser (Sept. 11) – football-themed event with keynote speaker EZ Smith to support tutoring. 🏈
  • Student Spotlight (Sept. 11–13) – students performed in The Storyteller’s Tree at Courthouse Theater. 🎭
  • STEM Field Trip (Sept. 25) – our 2nd graders had an exciting day of discovery.
  • P2 Pop-In Recognitions (Sept. 26) – celebrating positivity in action across campus.

💙🐾 September was full of moments that showcased our students’ brilliance, our staff’s commitment, and our community’s support. Here’s to keeping the momentum going into October!
